Ball Lightning fix coming next week

If your Ball Lightning Sorcerer build suddenly feels broken, you're not imagining it. Patch 3.0.2 removed the Core Skill tag from Ball Lightning, meaning it no longer benefits from +Ranks to Core Skills on gear, Talisman sets, or items like Ring of Starless Skies, Heir of Perdition, and Fractured Winterglass.

Every other skill on the same node (Firewall, Blizzard, Meteor) still has the Core tag. This is  a bug, not an intentional change - it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the patch notes.

Multiple bug reports have been filed on both PC and console forums. Sr. Community Manager Marcus Kretz (Marcoose) has confirmed the change is unintended and posted the following update:

"Leaving a note here as well for the issues with Ball Lightning not being a Core Skill - we're looking at (potentially early) next week for this to be fixed"

If you're running a Ball Lightning build, your damage is significantly lower than it should be until the hotfix lands. No workaround available, but at least a fix is on the horizon.
