How to Use the Boss Loot Page - Track the Uniques Your Build Needs
With the launch of Season 14, the Season of Death Awakening, a lot of players have one main early goal: find the loot they need to get their build online. To make that process faster, we've added a brand new Boss Loot page to DiabloFilter.com.
This guide walks through everything the page can do. It's meant to supplement the video walkthrough, so if you prefer to read or want a quick reference later, this covers it all.
Why Target Farming Matters
Getting the right Unique items is one of the most important parts of bringing a build online. Diablo 4 lets you target farm a lot of these because Lair Bosses each have their own distinct loot tables. Instead of hoping a specific Unique randomly drops somewhere in the world, you can focus your farming on the boss that actually drops what you need.
That's useful whether you're playing a new build for the first time and don't know where the items come from, or you're just someone who forgets which boss drops what from season to season. Having that information easy to access saves a lot of time at the start of a season.
There are already great sites that show boss loot tables, but we wanted to build what we think is the most practical version of that tool - one designed around how people actually play at the start of a new season.
Finding the Boss Loot Page
The Boss Loot page lives alongside our loot filter tools. You'll find it in the navigation up top.
The page lists the loot table for every Lair Boss in the game - Beast in the Ice, The Butcher, Grigoire the Galvanic Saint, etc... At the bottom, you'll also find world drops, which are items available anywhere in the game that aren't tied to a specific boss's loot table. This section includes the former Mythic Uniques, now called Iconic Mythic Uniques.
Sorting by Class (Including Multiple Classes)
You can sort the list by individual class, which most loot table sites already let you do. But we added something a little different: you can select multiple classes at once.
Say you're playing in a party with a Sorcerer and a Barbarian. Click both classes and the page shows items for both. Add as many as you want. To go back to viewing everything, just click All Classes. It's a small touch, but handy for group play.
Mythic 3.0 Values
Season 14 introduces Mythic Uniques 3.0, which allows any Unique in the game to roll as a Mythic. The Boss Loot page includes those Mythic values too, so you can toggle to see the upgraded version of any item right alongside its standard stats.
Building Your Need List
This is where the page really stands out.
As you go through the list, click on the individual items your build needs. Once you've selected everything, head to the Need List page at the top. It filters the view down to just the items you selected.
For example, if your build needs items from Astaroth, Bartuc, and Duriel, your Need List shows exactly those bosses and items, plus anything that only comes from random drops. Now you know precisely where to focus your farming at a glance.
As you find each item, just click it and it disappears from your list. No more guessing what you still need - your Need List is always an up-to-date picture of what's left to chase.
Importing From a DiabloFilter Loot Filter
What if you don't know which items you need yet, but you're following a build that has a loot filter on DiabloFilter.com?
When you're viewing a loot filter on the site, you'll see a section that says "This filter contains X unique items" with a button to Find Them. Click it, and your Need List loads with those specific items already pre-selected.
For example, if you're running a Whirlwind Barbarian build that has a filter hosted on DiabloFilter.com, one click pulls every Unique that filter targets straight into your Need List. No manual selection required.
Importing From an External Loot Filter (Filter Reader)
What if you made your own loot filter, or you're using a build from another site like Maxroll or Mobalytics?
You can still import it using our Filter Reader:
- On the external site, copy the loot filter code (Maxroll, for example, has a Copy Loot Filter Code button)
- Come back to DiabloFilter.com and open the Filter Reader page
- Click inside the Paste Filter Code box and paste your code
- You'll see the same "This filter contains X unique items" box - click Find Them
If you already have items on your Need List, you can choose to combine the imported items with your existing list or start fresh. Either way, it loads the exact Uniques from that filter so you know what to farm.
A Note for Loot Filter Creators
There's one catch worth knowing: the import only works if the loot filter actually includes the Unique items the build needs. If a filter doesn't list those Uniques, there's nothing for the tool to pull.
So this is a call to all loot filter creators: include the Uniques your builds need in your filters. It makes them more useful on their own, and it makes this tool far more powerful for everyone using your build.
